Building a quality aerobic base is perhaps the single most important phase of the year for endurance athletes. A solid foundation of work in this phase often leads to a season of success, regardless of whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out. You’ll learn the secrets and the discipline of building a better base while riding in Texas’s famed hill country, a bucolic, rumpled terrain marked by wooded canyons cut by spring-fed rivers and laced with endless miles of appealing two-lane blacktop.

Our home base is Fredericksburg, Texas, a historic town of German heritage located in Gillespie County, known for its wineries and labeled one of the South’s best small towns. The area’s relatively mild winters, rolling hills, and quiet country roads make it a perfect spot to build some enjoyable base miles, while dozens of local wineries, friendly eateries, and a vibrant downtown music scene make the town a fun base for our cycling camp. And best of all, it’s quirky.
