Summary: The annual Marcha Ciclodeportiva Sierras de Moratalla is without doubt, the most impressive and challenging sportive in the Region of Murcia. The 2020 event will take place on Sun 24 May. This camp will follow our Bike Camp Murcia schedule with the focus on being fully prepared for the event.

Accommodation: Our Murcia base offers a varied choice of bike friendly accommodation options:

4* HB Hotel – Los Alcazares (Coastal/Town Centre)

4* B&B Superior Hotel – Los Alcazares (Coastal/Town Centre)

4* SC Villas on the Mar Menor Golf Resort (5 km to coast)

Difficulty: With route options of 100 km (1500m of ascent) and 180 km (2600m of ascent) this sportive would provide a challenge for level 2 and 3 riders.

Pro-style Support: The EC team will be on hand to handle race entry and registration leading up to the race (can prove to be a complex process). On the day of the event we’ll transport you to Moratalla in North-West Murcia. The race organisers provide ample well stocked aid stations and technical support throughout the race. EC riders will also benefit from having our own guides cycling with you to offer any support and assistance required.

Minimum numbers: A minimum of 4 people are required in order for this camp to go ahead.

Sample Itinerary:

Day 1 – Thur: Scheduled airport transfer from Murcia airport (RMU), welcome briefing, bike checks, short local ride.

Days 2- 3: short local guided ride options to see some of the highlights of the region (steady pace).

Day 4 – Sun: Transport to Moratalla, ride and return to accommodation.

Day 5 – Mon: Recovery ride option, scheduled transfer to Murcia airport (RMU).

Price: 4night/5-day camp – 645 Euros*, book before 31 Dec 19 for a 100 Euro discount.

*Price includes sportive entry.

Event Entry: Entries for the 2020 edition open on 1 Dec 19.

Event cancellation: If the Marcha Ciclodeportiva Sierras de Moratalla is cancelled for any reason then EC will schedule a ride of similar difficulty/terrain. Any event refunds will be returned in full to our customers.
